FreedomWorks Statement in Response to FISA Extension Deal

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the deal reached by the Senate to extend the recently expired Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) authorities for another 75 days, Jason Pye, FreedomWorks’ Vice President of Legislative Affairs, commented:

"The deal secured by a bipartisan group of senators ensures that there will be a debate on amendments that will protect Americans’ civil liberties. The agreement also means the Senate will function more like the deliberative body it was intended to be. We applaud Sens. Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Steve Daines, and others for being strong, bold leaders in this debate. We look forward to this debate in the coming weeks."
