WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to the Department of Labor's report this morning that indicated that unemployment claims fell below one million for the first time since March, Stephen Moore, Chair of the FreedomWorks Task Force on Economic Revival, commented:
“This morning’s report is more evidence that the economy is springing back to life. Far more people are moving off of unemployment than going on. This shows that the v-shaped recovery rolls on. I expect we will soon see that President Trump’s payroll tax cut will really get people back to work.”
FreedomWorks led the push in recent months for a payroll tax holiday to alleviate the strains of the economic downturn due to the Coronavirus lockdowns.
