FreedomWorks Statement in Response to Senate HELP Committee’s Consideration of David Weil for Administrator of the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the Senate HELP Committee’s Consideration of David Weil for Administrator of the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“A retread from the Obama administration, David Weil’s nomination to the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division is yet another example of President Joe Biden’s decision to fill the executive branch with radical left-wing ideologues. Weil is a vocal critic of the franchise system and gig economy, both of which provide millions of Americans with good-paying jobs.”

“While we should be embracing financial innovations that stoke the American entrepreneurial spirit, David Weil and President Biden want to stifle them. Yesterday, FreedomWorks recirculated a coalition letter to the Senate HELP Committee urging their opposition to David Weil and the burdensome overregulation he would bring back to the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division.”
