WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to the Senate Rules Committee’s consideration of the “Corrupt Politicians Act,” S.1, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:
“Today, Senate Democrats made it clearer than day that they intend to bulldoze this partisan legislation through the Senate, paying only disingenuous lip service to ‘bipartisanship.’ The only way S.1/H.R.1 would become law is if Senate Democrats torch all semblance of bipartisanship by eliminating the filibuster.
“Sens. Manchin and Sinema are all that stand in the way of a blatant power grab by their own party. They would do well to remember that FreedomWorks activists in West Virginia and Arizona remain staunchly opposed to S.1.
“The grassroots will continue to work hard to ensure their elected officials hear loud and clear that our founding principles of free speech, election administration, and federalism will be conserved and protected in opposing S.1.”
