Spearheaded by members of the Republican Study Committee (RSC), these bills are designed to offer solutions to problems identified in the RSC’s Government Efficiency, Accountability, and Reform (GEAR) Task Force report, Power, Practices, Personnel: 100+ Commonsense Solutions to Better Government, which was released earlier this year.

On behalf of FreedomWorks’ activist community, I urge you to contact your senators and ask them to cosponsor the Right to Test Act, S. 3769, introduced by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas). This bill would let states approve coronavirus testing to be used in their state without the interference of the Federal Drug Administration (FDA).

On behalf of FreedomWorks’ activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and senators ask them to cosponsor the American Healthshare Plans Act, H.R. 6712 and S. 3610, introduced in the House by Rep. John Curtis (R-Utah) and in the Senate by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.). This bill would allow non-employer membership organizations to offer health insurance to individuals, including across state lines, opening up a much-needed alternate path to coverage.

Ted Budd (R-N.C.) and Chip Roy (R-Texas) and in the Senate by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

In today’s politically charged climate, it often seems that politicians aren’t taken seriously unless they spuriously claim that “people will die” if a certain course of action is or is not taken. The rhetoric has been elevated to such a point that only the threat of life or death seems to get the attention of the masses, regardless of whether or not the claim is true. That’s a shame, because an issue has finally come along that does have grave consequences for thousands of Americans.

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to cosponsor the Health Coverage Choice Act, H.R. 4811, introduced by Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.). The bill would codify the Trump Administration rulemaking on short-term, limited-duration (STLD) health plans, which expanded these plans to a maximum of 12 months from three months and allowed renewability for up to 36 months.

On Wednesday, FreedomWorks sent a coalition letter to members of the House of Representatives applauding the leadership of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) on healthcare. The letter was released a day after the RSC released its healthcare reform plan, A Framework for Personalized, Affordable Care. Signers to the letter include Adam Brandon of FreedomWorks, Tim Chapman of Heritage Action for America, Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform, Brandon Arnold of the National Taxpayers Union, and Brett Gardner of Americans for Prosperity.
