FreedomWorks Statement on Supreme Court Ruling in United States v. Texas

Following the deadlock at the Supreme Court in United States v. Texas, which upholds a lower court ruling striking down President Barack Obama’s unconstitutional power grab, FreedomWorks CEO Adam Brandon commented:

“This is a great victory for the Constitution. There are three branches of government, and each of them was intended to have equal power. There is no special clause that grants a president power when he can’t get his way. While today’s ruling is welcome news, Congress still has a long way to go before it restores the constitutional separation of powers and ends the imperial presidency.”

FreedomWorks aims to educate, build, and mobilize the largest network of activists advocating the principles of smaller government, lower taxes, free markets, personal liberty and the rule of law. For more information, please visit or contact Jason Pye at

Uh, no, the three co-equal branches do not have, and never has been, the same amount of delegated powers. That's how the checks and balances comes into play. Please refer to Krisanne Hall on this.
