FreedomWorks Urges Senate Support for Amendments by Senators Lee, Cruz, and Braun Defunding Vaccine Mandates and Balancing the Budget

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to the scheduled votes tonight in the Senate on amendments to the 2022 CR that would defund federal vaccine mandates and balance the federal budget, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“Republicans must join with Sens. Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, and Mike Braun and support these amendments that would defund the Biden Administration’s illegal vaccine mandates and work to balance the federal budget.”

“We also encourage Democrats like Sens. Manchin, Kelly, and Sinema to support these amendments and remind their constituents that they truly are independent from the whims of Majority Leader Schumer and the far-Left of their party. Sen. Manchin himself voted against a vaccine mandate in previous legislation, and there’s no reason he shouldn’t do it again.”

On behalf of FreedomWorks’ activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to vote NO on the Further Extending Government Funding Act, H.R. 6119. This continuing resolution (CR) would temporarily fund the federal government through February 18th, 2022 due to Congress’ inability to pass the required appropriations bills on time. A vote in favor of this CR is a vote to continue decades of congressional ineptitude and a vote in support of unlawful and invasive vaccine mandates.
