FreedomWorks-Vermont Addresses Citizens for Property Rights

MONTPELIER. Saturday March 19th, at the Charlemont Restaurant in Morrisville, FreedomWorks-Vermont State Director, Rob Roper and Advisory Council Chairman, Frank Mazur spoke to members of Citizens for Property Rights.

Mazur, former Chairman of the House Transportation Committee and member of the Appropriations Committee, gave an hour long presentation on the issues Vermonters are facing in health care, education, and with the taxing, spending and budgeting policies in Montpelier.

Mazur’s overall conclusions – that the Vermont economy cannot support current levels of spending, that our education system, as structured, is both unsustainable and undesirable, and that free market reforms are desperately needed to lower rising healthcare costs – were met with good questions, lively discussion, and a supportive response from the audience.

Roper spoke briefly about the establishment of the Vermont chapter of FreedomWorks, and its mission to fight for lower taxes, less government and more economic opportunity.

All agreed on the need to get more active and involved in what is happening to Vermont, and commitments to do so dominated the conversations around the tables and amongst the group as a whole.

FreedomWorks-Vermont thanks Citizens for Property Rights for the invitation to participate in their meeting.
