Allen West dropped by the Blogger Hangout at the RNC Convention on August 30, and was very gracious with his time. On his legislative agenda for 2013, he discussed tax reform and regulatory reform as a means to unleash small business success. He took a quick little shot at Harry Reid too, challenging him to pass the job creating legislation that has been blocked from a full vote at the Senate. I asked him about Sen. McCain's Convention remarks about the current state of the Middle East. He came out in strong defense of Prime Minister Netanyahu and Israel's right as a sovereign nation to take action to protect itself from Iran, and he made a point of stating that America needs to take a supportive role in relation to its allies in the region. He paints a bleak picture of what's going on in the region due to a lack of American leadership.
Finally, he states that the reason that the momentum is on the side of the GOP is because we are talking about principles, stating that when Republicans stand on Conservative values and talk about the Constitution, we win.

Allen West is my U.S. representative and I couldn’t be happier. The courage he shows in confronting the Obama administration is more of what we need. He is a very intelligent and thoughtful person who has highlighted many issues. To the previous Patriot, this is not a utopian society; we can’t have everything we want. I love Ron Paul too and the logic he applies to all issues is spot on. BUT, we need to apply Ronald Reagan’s wisdom and realize sometimes we need to “take half a loaf and come back for more”. Congressman West has a long military career and of course he would stand for the Patriot Act, I don’t, but that doesn’t mean the other 95% of his beliefs are wrong.
Elaine, also go to you tube and type in: Did RNC "Scripted" Rules Change Start A Civil War In The Republican
Watch that news report then answer back to me your thoughts.
Elaine, Quit following the party for the party's sake and be an American here. Allen West is part of the establishment, they seem good at some things, talk a good game, but then turn around and do something that trashes our Constitution. It is hard for me to believe that there are so many Americans that do not care about the Constitution anymore. It seems that the newer generations just do not give a damn. The Romney campaign along with the RNC have done something, that if it would have been in place in 1976, we would never have had Ronald Reagan as our President in the eighties. Wise up and research what is going on before our Constitution is gone forever.
At this point and time, our votes in the primary and caucuses all over the country will mean nothing. So you just keep listening to these Anti American so-called leaders in the RNC.
Oh, yeah, You Go, Lieutenant Colonial West!!! You voted for the Patriot Act, for the NDAA and now you want to talk the same way as Ron Paul??? All Tea Party voters need to start looking at what is really going on here. Our public officials do one thing and then say another. What is the saying that all of us say about liberals? Watch the other hand? Why are we so quick to ignore the other hand when there is an "R" in front of their name? It seems that everyone bashed Ron Paul for suggesting the same thing that LT. COL. West is now saying. Why? Stop listening to the establishment. Stop just being Party line voters. We should not be "Party First," we should be "Americans First!"
