Key Vote NO on the Restaurant Revitalization Fund Replenishment Act, H.R. 3807

On behalf of FreedomWorks’ activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to vote NO on the Restaurant Revitalization Fund Replenishment Act, H.R. 3807, introduced by Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.). This bill would amend the American Rescue Plan Act to increase appropriations to the Restaurant Revitalization Fund by $60 billion.

More than two years since “fifteen days to slow the spread,” lawmakers are still using COVID-19 as an excuse to blow out spending, fuelling rampant inflation. The original $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan itself is a partisan boondoggle that increases the deficit by nearly $1.86 trillion over ten years. Retroactively increasing appropriations by such a dramatic margin is nothing short of irresponsible.

Inflation is currently front and center in the minds of millions of Americans who are watching as prices skyrocket and their savings diminish. The last thing they need is for Congress to make matters worse by tacking on an additional $60 billion to the nearly $6 trillion already appropriated to combat COVID-19.

The best thing lawmakers can do is put in place meaningful fiscal reforms that focus on reducing our more than $30 trillion national debt and combatting inflation. It’s past time to move beyond COVID-19 and address our urgent fiscal needs.

FreedomWorks will count the vote for H.R. 3807 on our 2022 Congressional Scorecard and reserves the right to score any amendments, motions, or other related votes. The scorecard is used to determine eligibility for the FreedomFighter Award, which recognizes Members of the House and Senate who consistently vote to support economic freedom and individual liberty.

Sincerely,
