Support the Right to Earn a Living Act, H.R. 755

On behalf of FreedomWorks’ activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to cosponsor the Right to Earn a Living Act, H.R. 755, introduced by Rep. Bob Good (R-Va.). This bill would prevent federal tax dollars from subsidizing the state and local governments that continue devastating lockdown policies.

For over a year, governors across the country have prioritized keeping Americans at home instead of allowing them to get back to work. These policies have led to the closure of small businesses and rampant unemployment. We should not enable state and local governments to deny Americans the right to put food on the table; instead, we should be getting Americans back to work.

Restaurants and other small businesses suffer from restrictions that limit occupancy, hours of operation and even close their doors entirely. In states and localities where this is the case, the Right to Earn a Living Act will eliminate future eligibility for general federal stimulus.

Government lockdowns have gone on for far too long. It is time to reopen the economy nationwide and move forward with the recovery. By subsidizing state and local governments that are continuing to deprive Americans of the right to earn a living, we are prolonging the harm done by these policies.

For these reasons, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to cosponsor the Right to Earn a Living Act, H.R. 755.

Sincerely,

Adam Brandon,
President, FreedomWorks
