Hurley v. Kent of Naples, Inc., et al.: Patrick Hurley sued his employer for violating the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) by denying his request for eleven weeks of vacation time and terminating his employment. The District Court concluded that his termination was not due to his request, but awarded him actual damages of $200,000, liquidated damages of $200,000, and front pay of $350,901.85.

Decision

The Eleventh Circuit reversed and remanded with instructions to enter judgment in favor of the defendants.
