Biden’s Failed Afghanistan Withdrawal Shows ‘The Experts’ Aren’t Experts at All

In recent weeks, the Biden administration began withdrawing American forces from Afghanistan. After trillions of dollars spent and thousands of American lives lost over the past two decades, it’s clear that the time for the United States to leave Afghanistan has come. But the lack of a plan from the White House’s supposed “experts” has resulted in a crisis that could have easily been avoided.

We Owe Americans an End to Perpetual Wars

BY Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) and Jason Pye

The recent news that President Trump has ordered a reduction of U.S. military forces in Afghanistan is one that should be greeted with open arms by Americans. The action taken by the White House should bring a debate to reexamine the existing authorizations for the use of military force in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Key Vote NO on the National Defense Authorization Act, H.R. 6395

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to vote NO on the conference report for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for FY 2021, H.R. 6395. The $740.5 billion NDAA for FY 2021 fails to deliver any meaningful reforms and perpetuates the status quo in some areas. It also includes big government power grabs, places burdens on small businesses, and expands the federal bureaucracy.

Public Pays Steep Price For Congress' Failure to Reclaim War Powers

The airstrike that killed Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani and the subsequent tensions between the United States and Iran have sparked a new debate in Congress over the 2001 and 2002 Authorizations for the Use of Military Force, or AUMFs, against al Qaeda and Iraq. These nearly 20-year-old authorizations for war have been interpreted far too broadly by Republican and Democratic presidents alike. The AUMFs have been used as the justification for conducting military actions in several countries beyond what was originally intended, and it's time for Congress to repeal them.

Congress, Take Back Your War Powers

The Framers of the Constitution knew the importance of the separation of powers. This is why they allocated specific responsibilities to each of the three branches of the federal government: the executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch. Among the responsibilities given to the legislative branch is the power to authorize or declare war.
