On Tuesday, House Democrats pulled the Bankrupting the People Act, H.R. 2021, from consideration on the floor because of divisions within the caucus. This bill, as written, would bust the discretionary spending caps by $360.8 billion over the next two fiscal years and mark the fifth time Congress has busted the spending caps since 2013. FreedomWorks had issued a key vote against H.R. 2021.

The bill would blatantly disregard the Budget Control Act (BCA) of 2011 that requires Congress to adhere to budget caps – This bill goes above and beyond, busting the caps by nearly $300 billion over two years, more than twice that of the past two, two-year deals combined

The White House is offering more details about President Barack Obama's FY 2016 budget proposal in advance of its formal release on Monday. Politico is reporting that the administration will call for an end to the sequester -- across-the-board cuts to the rate of spending increases enacted in 2011.
