WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to the House passage of Speaker Pelosi’s $3 trillion hyper-partisan “HEROES Act” socialist spending spree, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks’ President, commented:
The Senate gave final legislative approval Wednesday afternoon to the $100 billion Families
First Coronavirus Response Act and President Trump is expected to quickly sign it into law. But
the cost of this bill pales in comparison to emergency economic assistance legislation that could
cost $1 trillion or more.
Amidst the pressing need for congressional action on Coronavirus and the expiring provisions of the USA FREEDOM Act, an important report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) seems to have been lost in the noise. The statements of Comptroller General Gene L. Dodaro before the Senate Budget Committee presented a damning view of the nation’s fiscal health. Over the course of the hour-long hearing, Dodaro painted a bleak picture of our “unsustainable long-term fiscal path.”
On behalf of FreedomWorks’ activist community, I urge you to contact your senators and ask them to vote YES on Senator Rand Paul’s (R-Ky.) amendment to the Coronavirus emergency spending package, H.R. 6074. The amendment would simply rescind unobligated funds for several international outreach and foreign aid programs that have been flagged in the past for being unnecessary and wasting taxpayer dollars, and apply those funds to offset the cost of emergency spending to combat the coronavirus domestically.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to the insertion of a provision calling for price controls on vaccines in the congressional coronavirus package, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks’ President, commented:
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to efforts by Democratic House leadership to tie the reauthorization of the USA PATRIOT Act to the coronavirus spending package, Jason Pye, FreedomWorks’ Vice President of Legislative Affairs, commented:
When acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney tore into Republicans for hypocritically voting to increase spending for the past three years after railing against high deficits during the Obama years, he was simply echoing a sentiment deeply held for years by the grassroots. Citing the “extremely disturbing” $1 trillion deficit, Mulvaney hit the nail on the head.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney’s remarks regarding Republicans’ failure to address out-of-control federal spending, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks’ President, commented:
FreedomWorks is proud to announce that our bill of the month for February 2020 is the Budget Process Enhancement Act, H.R. 5085. Introduced by Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), the Budget Process Enhancement Act seeks to make common-sense reforms to our budget process and force government agencies to be less wasteful with their share of appropriated taxpayer dollars.
