Activists in Georgia have recently been concerned about the Card Check bill that would negatively effect labor union employees. However, residents are feeling voiceless in the debate thanks to Representative Sanford Bishop.

President Obama has stepped up his rhetoric against the health care system, but fiscal deficiencies in his plan for a government take over have become increasingly apparent in recent weeks. Now, some on Capitol Hill are toying with the idea of taxing employee health benefits to subsidize the cost of government-provided care. But, as Americans learned during the collapse of GM, many union labor agreements provide extremely generous benefit packages to workers who are unlikely to support any proposal that might put their compensation at risk.

Observers of Colorado Senator Michael Bennet have been wondering aloud how he could in 25 minutes make a decision to support Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor but still be unable after a few months of opportunity to consider the issue to take a position on “card check”, the Democratic plan to eliminate the requirement for a secret ballot to unionize a company and to force binding arbitration of contracts between companies and their unionized employees. As reports of a potential “compromise” come out, the positions of on-the-fence Democrats becomes increasingly important. And Michael Bennet is the poster child for “on the fence.”

It's common knowledge that California is going broke.  So broke they're asking for TARP money, a program whose beneficiaries can't get out of fast enough.  It was bad enough when they took  my money to give to banks and companies that made bad decisions - but naysayers were explained away with words about "systemic risk" and "too big to fail."  With a GDP among the top ten in the world (were it an independent country), it's hard to see how we won't see those same platitudes trotted out again.

It looks like Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) plans on voting against both cloture and passage of Card Check:Senator Specter's Office has confirmed to ATR that he will vote against both cloture and passage on the Employee Free Choice Act (also known as "card check" or the employee NO choice act).  His vote is critical and this a major victory for freedom, as well as a stunning defeat for the other side.H/T Americans for Tax Reform Blog

Yesterday, Congressman George Miller (D-AFL/CIO, and sometimes D-CA) and Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) introduced the Orwellian “Employee Free Choice Act” into both houses of Congress.

As most are aware, the dreaded Employee Free Anti-Choice Act or Card Check was introduced in the House and Senate today.  The timing has been uncertain for a while, but everyone knew it was coming.  Luckily, FreedomWorks is prepared.
