Of all the problems with Obamacare, the one that should strike the most fear into the hearts of members of Congress is public reaction to their acceptance of a bribe to keep the law funded. Congress should reject the exemption the President offers them, which allows the federal government to pay for their exchange-based health insurance.

The law prevails, not the proclamation or arbitrary decision of a ruler, government bureaucrat, the enforcer (e.g., policeman) or judge.

For any American paying attention, it can hardly be a surprise that Congressional approval is at a low point. In fact, it is at an all time low. In a recent poll, only 10% of respondents approved of the job Congress is doing. To get an idea of how abysmally low that rating is, let’s take a look at some other data for comparison. 

This weekend Edward Snowden, a low-level employee who worked for a major defense contractor, came out to the press and acknowledged that he was the source of the leaks behind the National Security Administration's controversial spy program. The negative reaction to these revelations of the past week have been swift and strong from average Americans, some elected officials, and tech companies who have been named as participants in the NSA's data gathering scheme.

[Note: This article was written before the July 2013 announcement by President Obama's Office of Personnel Management (OPM), that it would allow Members of Congress and their staff to keep their workplace health insurance subsidies despite having to obtain their coverage in a government health exchange. This special treatment is enjoyed by no other class of Americans. It isn't true.Will Politico print a retraction? It's more likely that they will merely pat themselves on their collective back, hoist a toast at their favorite DC watering hole, and share a laugh over another episode of successful trolling completed.

Matt Kibbe appeared on Fox News Sunday on March 17 to debate Steve LaTourette, a former Republican Congressman who now leads the Republican Mainstreet Partnership. The debate centered around how the GOP can win elections in the future, and was a classic case of the Tea Party vs. the Establishment.  As host and moderator Chris Wallace stated, "CPAC highlighted the disagreement for the [GOP] to broaden its base."
