North Carolina CSE Awards Margaret Bumgarner Activist of the Year

On June 5, 2001, North Carolina Citizens for a Sound Economy (NC CSE) honored Margaret Bumgarner with one of its 2001 Super Activists Awards. She received her award at a ceremony at NC CSE’s Annual Day at the Capitol that took place at Halifax Square.

Margaret Bumgarner was recognized for her volunteer efforts during NC CSE’s 2000 public policy issue campaigns to educate North Carolinians about the issues of limited government and promotion of free market ideals. Margaret Bumgarner put in untiring hours of volunteer time and has been an inspiration to many CSE members. NC CSE is honored to have Margaret as one of its over 18,000 members statewide.

“It was with appreciation and honor that we presented Margaret Bumgarner with this award,” said North Carolina CSE Director Jonathan Hill. “She is what North Carolina CSE is all about: everyday North Carolinians working to make a difference on important public policy issues that will affect their lives. That is what being an American is all about!”
