The Biden Administration’s Promise of Transparency Does Not Extend to Our Nation’s Schoolchildren

As the summer inevitably comes to an end, and students across the country return to school for the first time in more than a year, the Biden Administration’s Department of Education (ED) published a handbook providing guidance on reopening schools and outlining how the American Rescue Plan’s $122 billion in funding is to be spent by local school systems.

Nuclear Energy Is a Reliable Source That Also Shrinks Emissions

Hopefully, policymakers will learn their lesson from the events in Texas and wake up to the reality that energy security requires a diversity of reliable sources; chief among them is nuclear power.

Yesterday's proposed rules on school accountability are yet another reminder that it’s time for federal bureaucrats at the Department of Education to get their hands out of our education system. In its latest power-grab, the department seeks to enact top-down measures that would remove authority from the hands of teachers, school districts, and state government. The regulation would impose Education Department-mandated accountability measures promulgating federal government oversight over student and school achievement.

Let My Appliance Go: Rethinking Government Efficiency Standards

While Washington’s political elites use popular buzzwords like government “efficiency” standards, these are only an attempt to place a positive spin on expensive regulations. Fisker Karma: Obama's Latest Green Disaster?

In the first presidential debate, Mitt Romney said of Obama’s green energy initiatives “You don’t pick winners and losers, you only pick losers.” The list of so-called losers, which already included the well-known Solyndra and the Chevy Volt also included Finnish car company Fisker. Fisker’s new electric vehicle, Karma, was created with a $529 million loan guarantee from Obama’s Department of Energy (DOE) and, as with previous green projects, it is not looking as though the taxpayers can expect repayment.
