Florida Update: Enduring Patriotism Bill, State Capitol Day Approaching

FreedomWorks Florida State Director John Hallman is pleased to report that the Statute for Enduring Patriotism was officially filed at 4:44pm yesterday by Rep. Rich Glorioso under HB #1223.

GENERAL BILL by Glorioso
Public K-12 Educational Instruction: Revises provisions relating to required instruction and courses of study in the public schools; includes study of the history of the United States and free enterprise; requires standards and assessments adopted by the State Board of Education to conform; provides requirements for the teaching and assessment of United States history; revises provisions relating to general requirements for high school graduation.
Effective Date: July 1, 2005.

Please call or email Rep. Glorioso to THANK HIM for helping with this very important legislation. His email address is Glorioso.rich@myfloridahouse.gov.

Our mission now is to get as many co-sponsors as possible. Please call your State Representatives and
ask them to Co-Sponsor HB 1223.

Please also contact Senator Fasano to ask him if he is going to sponsor this legislation in the Senate, as he
has indicated he would do. His email is Fasano.mike@flsenate.gov.
Florida State Director John Hallman commented “This bill is a long time due, statistics show that students graduating from High School do not have a basic understanding our country’s founding and the principles of freedom and our free enterprise system. For our republic to endure, we must understand how and why we became a free society and what our responsibilities are to help continue it.”

The time to act is now!

This week John Hallman from Freedom Works will be making hotel reservations for our trip to Tallahassee on March 15th and 16th. We need to know how many people are coming with us to speak to our Representatives and Senators about co-sponsoring this bill. If you would
like to drive up with us or can meet us in Tallahassee, please call John Hallman right away at 561-392-4432.
