Today the House of Representative voted to pass a $1.126 trillion Continuing Resolution (CR) without any extended debate and without allowing any amendments to be offered. This was a tremendous abrogation of regular order in the budget process which has been repeated multiple times over the years, and a sign that the leadership in Congress remains unconcerned about the tremendous deficit spending that has lead to our astonishing $16.6 trillion in debt.

Dear FreedomWorks member,As one of our millions of FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your U.S. Senators and urge them to vote NO on the “American Family Economic Protection Act”, S. 388. This bill would replace much of the decreased spending of sequestration with tax increases on the highest income earners, while also exempting favored programs from any cuts.

Yesterday, the Senate voted to raise the debt ceiling through May 19th, 2013, which will allow the federal government to rack up about $450 billion in new debt.  The bill, H.R.
