On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your senators and ask them to support the Mens Rea Reform Act, S. 1902, introduced by Sens. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Ted Cruz (R-Texas), David Perdue (R-Ga.), and Rand Paul (R-Ky.). The bill would address over-criminalization at the federal level, setting a default intent standard for all federal criminal laws and regulations currently lacking mens rea protections. The proposed default intent standard would require the government to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant acted willfully in order to obtain a conviction.

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your senators and ask them to support the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act, S. 1917, introduced by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa). The bill would address overincarceration concerns in the United States federal prison system, where nearly half of prisoners are serving sentences for nonviolent drug offenses, and many of those for first-time offenses.

On behalf of our activist community, please contact your representative and urge him or her to support the International Communications Privacy Act, H.R. 3718, introduced by Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.). The bill would establish guidelines for how law enforcement officials can access information that is stored in countries other than the United States.

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your senators and ask them to support the CBO Show Your Work Act, S. 1746, introduced by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah). The bill would require the Congressional Budget Office to make its models and data available to Congress and the public.

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to support the New Hope and Opportunity through the Power of Employment (HOPE) Act, H.R. 2155, introduced by Rep. Tim Walberg (R-Mich.). The bill would incentivize states to reform occupational licensing laws that limit competition in the marketplace.

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to support the Debt Ceiling Alternative Act, H.R. 3167, introduced by Rep. David Schweikert (R-Ariz.). The bill would bring responsible debt management when the federal government reaches its borrowing limit.

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to support the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Reform Act, H.R. 2996, introduced by Rep. Garret Graves (R-La.). The bill would establish work requirements for able-bodied adults without dependents who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, also known as food stamps.

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your senators and urge them to support the ECPA Modernization Act, S. 1657, introduced by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.). The bill would greatly increase individual privacy by adding warrant requirements to email collection by legal authorities and add other legal protections to defend citizens’ rights.

On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your senators and them to support the Email Privacy Act, S. 1654, introduced by Sens. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.). The bill would greatly increase individual privacy by adding warrant requirements for authorities before they can acquire electronic content that is held by technology companies.

This bill would lower prescription drug prices by crushing illegal, anti-competitive, and monopolistic practices by the biggest pharmaceutical companies.
