In order to get young people to buy the Obamcare Exchange health insurance plans, the Obama Administration dictated to insurance companies a new deadline of December 24, Christmas Eve, for policies to be effective January 1. At the same time, over the weekend the President went through a botched PR rollout of his own, enrolling in the DC Exchange. These games will continue, and probably become worse, once the law is in full effect next week.

By imposing a minimum amount of insurance coverage, Obamacare limits the freedom of Americans to make their own choices. The government "minimum essential benefits" is denying health insurance to many who would like to have it. That's always the case with government minimums: they hurt those on the bottom the most.   

According to a company employee, Dutch Bros., the largest privately held drive-through coffee company with over 200 locations throughout 7 western states, is limiting the hours of their corporate staff in order to comply with Obamacare mandates.

On Thursday, Republican House Speaker John Boehner gave an interview with ABC News in which he famously declared, "Obamacare is the law of the land".  But the battle as they say, has just begun.

Dear Representative, On behalf of over one million FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to sign onto the Republican Study Committee Health Care Working Group’s letter asking the Republican leadership to introduce an alternative health care plan with no mandates. We applaud the Republican leadership for passing the Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act. The next step is to devise an alternative health care plan that will truly lower costs and improve health care quality.

For various reasons, people on both sides of the political aisle, though more Democrats than Republicans, have supported America's ethanol policy...a policy which is not just silly but also dangerous. There's been a lot of press lately about food shortages in the third world caused in part by America and Europe's ethanol policy, but that's only the latest reason to oppose ethanol subsidies and mandates.
