With March 31st Deadline Looming, Obamacare Still Falling All Over Itself

As the first round of open enrollment for Obamacare draws to a close, the president and his senior staffers are desperately pitching it to the demographic they most need, often to the exclusion of seemingly weightier matters.

This is the progressive drumbeat that we have heard year in and year out for as long as anyone can remember, and will continue to hear as Congress tries to push for $10.10 federal minimum wage later this year. But a fallacy can only persist for so long before reality starts to catch up. It’s time to put this talking point to rest once and for all. The myth that higher minimum wages help the poor has finally run its course.

The Summer's Best Fiction: Progressives' Detroit Post Mortem

The kiddies are going back to school all over this great land but it is still officially summertime on the calendar. If you haven't gotten as much beach reading done as you would have liked to, I've got some works of extraordinary fiction for you to peruse, but only if you're a big fan of the fantasy genre.

Paul Krugman Understands the NSA, Why Don't You?

The scope of NSA spying is broader than anyone would have ever believed and the limits on the agency are more secretive and insubstantial than anyone could have ever feared.

The Fed Cannot Employ, It Can Only Inflate

Paul Krugman is at it again. The Nobel Prize-winning, devoutly Keynesian economist argued in a recent column that the thing needed to cure the sluggish American economy is, wait for it, more inflation. This is the classic Keynesian view that the Federal Reserve can stimulate the economy by inflating the currency.

Nostalgic Krugman Needs a Dose of Reality

This past Sunday in the New York Times, Paul Krugman opined about a better time in America when the Twinkie was still revered, when families huddled around their black and white television to watch "The Howdy Doody Show" and the wealthiest among us paid their "fair share" by means of a 91% marginal tax rate.
