Stop Corporate Welfare in North Carolina!

Late last session, the North Carolina General Assembly passed legislation giving $40 million in taxpayer-funded incentives to a Goodyear plant in Fayetteville. On Thursday, Governor Easley vetoed the bill. Next week, the legislature will convene a special session in an attempt to override the governor’s veto.

Giving taxpayer dollars as incentives amounts to corporate welfare and an unfair redistribution of income from struggling families to big businesses. Conservative lawmakers should reject this Goodyear incentives plan and support the governor’s veto. In order for legislators to get the message, we need you to
