Washington Can Afford No More Spending for Coronavirus Relief

Congress may be out of session this week, but when lawmakers return, we all know they will get back to their favorite pastime of spending taxpayer dollars. The phase four coronavirus relief bill, which will almost certainly be in the ballpark of $1 trillion or more, is inevitable. In addition to increasing the deficit, lawmakers, particularly Democrats, are willing to incentivize Americans to stay far more than six feet away from the economy.

Will the Real Fiscal Conservatives Please Stand Up?

When acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney tore into Republicans for hypocritically voting to increase spending for the past three years after railing against high deficits during the Obama years, he was simply echoing a sentiment deeply held for years by the grassroots. Citing the “extremely disturbing” $1 trillion deficit, Mulvaney hit the nail on the head.

Conservatism is Lost Without the Free Market

The left-wing of American politics is an angry place. We see stories of them practically burning down college campuses to shut down speakers who dare question their orthodoxy. They constantly decry the ever-creeping threat of fascism or the end of American democracy if they don’t win power. Looking at the landscape of American politics it is truly baffling to try and understand why the left is this way.

Their Support for Price Controls Confirms Republicans Are Dems Following Speed Limit

BY Daniel Savickas

Libertarian author and media personality Michael Malice has a saying that goes something along these lines, “Conservatives are just progressives driving the speed limit.” It is one of the more prescient observations in modern politics today. Republican politicians who self-describe as conservatives will eventually come to the same conclusions as progressive Democrats, just a little bit later.

Progressive Destruction of Our Constitution and Our Nation

Concerning the impeachment of President Trump, James Piereson, a senior fellow of the Manhattan Institute, published in the New Criterion “Break the Wrong Ground.” Piereson writes, “The subject of impeachment has always been accompanied by solemn pronouncements that it must be invoked sparingly, never for narrow partisan or political purposes, and used in extreme cases to preserve the Constitution and the rule of law against a president who has violated his oath of office.” This was also the view of Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz as reported in my FreedomWorks Blog, “The Framers of the Constitution Warned Against a Partisan Impeachment Process” “A partisan impeachment vote is exactly what the Framers feared,” Dershowitz wrote. “Impeachment is an extraordinary tool to be used only when the constitutional criteria are met. These criteria are limited and include only ‘treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.”

The Catastrophic Costs of Socialist Policies

BY Adam Brandon

It's no surprise that millennials and Gen Zers hold favorable opinions of socialism. Normally this wouldn't be a concern, as young people's political views typically evolve as they age.
