WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to proposals by so-called free-market conservatives that call for the implementation of price controls on prescription drugs, FreedomWorks announces today a six-figure Hulu and digital ad buy calling on Congress and the administration to reject socialized price controls.
Shortly before Christmas, with no chance for debate or amendments, Congress very nearly slipped a major change in health care law into the year-end government spending bill. Like most such travesties, the effort was bipartisan, written largely behind closed doors, and not open for amendment or debate. Thankfully, this effort failed at the 11th hour, and the language was left out of the bill.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Following the vote in the House of Representatives on Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) socialist price control bill, H.R. 3, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks’ president, commented:
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- FreedomWorks grassroots activists visited Rep. Jody Hice’s (R-Ga.) Monroe district office yesterday and made their case for why Congress must oppose socialized healthcare and in particular, price controls on prescription drugs. FreedomWorks grassroots activists from Georgia’s tenth congressional district were in attendance and spoke with Rep. Hice’s district staff. This effort is part of FreedomWorks' nationwide campaign to fix patients, not prices and stop socialized medicine.
Republicans, including many so-called free market conservatives, sometimes fall back into a nasty habit of doing the Democrats’ leg work for them. Such is the case with recent Senate legislation that would impose an inflationary cap or penalty on prescription drugs as part of Medicare Part D.
Almost all Americans want to see lower prices for prescription drugs. Americans don’t deserve to be gouged when they need life-saving drugs. It’s also unfair that Americans often pay higher prices than customers in developed nations around the world. To solve these issues, too many in Congress want to impose state-mandated price controls.
Listen in as FreedomWorks President Adam Brandon talks about the problems price controls would have on the American health care system. Original air date 5/29/19.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is trying to convince the White House to lower prescription drug prices using a price control system called the “International Pricing Index.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to President Trump announcing that his administration will be working with Congress to pass surprise billing legislation, Sarah Anderson, FreedomWorks Federal Affairs Manager, commented:
FreedomWorks Foundation, American Legislative Exchange Council, Tea Party Patriots and Committee to Unleash Prosperity in partnership with a coalition of conservative organizations and prominent individuals, launched the Save Our Country Task Force.
