WASHINGTON, D.C. -- As part of our ongoing effort to advance healthcare freedom, Sarah Anderson, FreedomWorks’ Director of Policy, hosted a series of online interviews with elected officials and health policy experts on the need for Congress to expand health savings accounts. Links to the online interviews with H.R. 6338 sponsors Reps. Ted Budd (R-N.C.) and Chip Roy (R-Texas) and Americans for Prosperity’s Dean Clancy are here and here.
On behalf of FreedomWorks’ activist community, I urge you to contact your senators and ask them to cosponsor the Right to Test Act, S. 3769, introduced by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas). This bill would let states approve coronavirus testing to be used in their state without the interference of the Federal Drug Administration (FDA).
FreedomWorks is proud to announce that our bill of the month for May 2020 is the Verified Innovative Testing in American Laboratories (VITAL) Act, S. 3512. The bill, introduced by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), clarifies that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has no regulatory authority over lab-developed testing procedures, during a public health emergency or at any other time.
Last week, the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution held a hearing titled “Keeping Congress Accountable: Term Limits In the United States.” Chaired by Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) as well as from a panel of two professors -- Lynda W. Powell and Dr. John David Rausch, Jr. -- alongside Nick Tomboulides, the Executive Director of the nonprofit group U.S. Term Limits.
FreedomWorks is proud to honor Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) as the member of the month for June 2019. He serves in the House of Representatives to represent Texas’ 21st Congressional District, which spans to the north and west of Austin, Texas. But in reality, Rep. Roy serves not only to represent his constituents but also to better the lives of all Americans by exposing and fighting against the status quo Washington ways that have put us $22 trillion in debt and left us more burdened by government than our founding fathers ever could have imagined.
On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and senators and ask them to cosponsor the amendment to the United States Constitution to limit the number of terms Members of the House and Senate can serve. This is a bicameral effort led by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), sponsor of S.J.Res. 1, and Rep. Francis Rooney (R-Fla.), sponsor of H.J.Res. 20.
On behalf of FreedomWorks activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and senators ask them to co-sponsor the Retirement Freedom Act, H.R. 2108 and S. 1030, introduced by Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Ala.) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas). The bill would decouple Social Security benefits from Medicare Part A enrollment, allowing individuals if they so choose to to opt out of Medicare Part A without losing access to their Social Security benefits.
On behalf of our activist community, I urge you to contact your representative and senators and ask them to cosponsor the Student Empowerment Act, H.R. 621 and S. 157. Introduced by Rep.
