Joan Carter, Michael Darland Join FreedomWorks Foundation Board of Directors

Washington, DC- FreedomWorks is pleased to announce two new additions to the FreedomWorks Foundation Board of Directors, Joan Carter and Michael Darland.

FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe commented, “We are extremely proud to welcome Michael Darland and Joan Carter to the FreedomWorks Foundation Board of Directors. Grassroots activism cannot drive policy change without awareness and issue education. As new FreedomWorks Foundation board members, Michael and Joan are extraordinarily qualified to guide FreedomWorks’ mission to educate citizens on the benefits that a free-market and limited government can have in households across the country.”

Michael Darland is a technology entrepreneur and a committed constitutional conservative. As a co-founder of Digital Systems International (DSI), a global public company, Darland led industry efforts in the development of revolutionary and labor saving telephonic call management systems. Darland commented, “We all value our freedom—especially when it’s threatened.  I am excited to help FreedomWorks in its mission to reaffirm and defend our Constitutional heritage that we enjoy, uniquely as Americans.”

Joan Carter is a businesswoman who was the first female president of The Union League of Philadelphia, a patriotic organization founded in 1862 to support the Union. She is co-owner with her husband, John Aglialoro, of a fitness equipment manufacturer (Cybex) and a national corporate health enterprise (EHE). She is a board member of Penn Mutual Life and previous board chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.
