FreedomWorks’ Member of the Month for January 2022: Rep. Mary Miller (R-Ill.)

The Big Picture
Since first arriving in Washington a year ago, Rep. Mary Miller continually proves herself one of the most stalwart and vocal conservatives on Capitol Hill.
Rep. Miller is a wife, grandmother, and farmer actively fighting the swamp and providing the conservative grassroots a voice in Washington D.C. She is committed to conservative principles and works tirelessly to defend our Constitution in the halls of Congress.
A member of the Republican Study Committee and Freedom Caucus, Rep. Miller is a dynamic member of the conservative conscience of the House Republican Conference.
She is one of only a few members of the House of Representatives that held a perfect 100 percent score on the 2021 FreedomWorks scorecard, earning her a 2021 Freedom Fighter Award.
The Details
- Have a puddle on your property? President Joe Biden and the EPA want to regulate it. This sounds ridiculous, but it is the unfortunate reality facing American farmers and ranchers. The Define WOTUS Act introduced by Rep. Mary Miller and Sen. Mike Braun would codify the Trump era definition of “Waters of the United States” under the Clean Water Act into law, providing much-needed clarity to rural Americans impacted by this nonsensical regulation.
- Rep. Miller is a vocal critic of President Biden’s illegal vaccine mandate from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). In November, she took part in a hearing with her fellow Freedom Caucus members to discuss the devastating consequences of Biden’s vaccine mandate. Rep. Miller stood by the thousands of conservative grassroots activists opposing OSHA’s illegal employer mandate, which the Supreme Court has since stayed and OSHA has formally withdrawn.
Why it Matters
In only a year, Rep. Mary Miller proves herself to be as principled as they come in Washington, D.C. Her commitment to individual liberty and the principles of the United States Constitution set her apart as a steadfast ally of the conservative grassroots.
