FreedomWorks Statement in Response to The Washington Post’s Continued Narrative Downplaying Dangers of Voter Fraud

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to yesterday’s front page article from The Washington Post, entitled Courts View GOP Fraud Claims Skeptically As Democrats Score Key Legal Victories Over Mail Voting, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“What we saw yesterday from The Post is part of a continued narrative from left-wing media outlets that strives to downplay the dangers facing our election system in a bid to undermine Americans’ faith in the electoral process. Doing so is tantamount to disenfranchising American voters by laying the groundwork to contest the results of the November 2020 elections.

“FreedomWorks is not the only group concerned with the integrity of our elections– even NPR raised valid concerns with widespread voting by mail this past summer. Widespread voting by mail is not an issue that can be fixed fewer than 40 days before an election. The push from Democratic state legislatures to change how our elections are conducted with just weeks left to go are merely power grabs aimed to take advantage of Americans’ looming anxieties as we close in on November 3.”

FreedomWorks will host the first of two activist fly-ins this coming weekend, October 2-5, in Washington, D.C on the issue of election integrity.
