Fully Coordinated

Hello, and welcome back to Fully Coordinated, the weekly newsletter highlighting what FreedomWorks is doing to decrease the size of government, hold elected officials accountable, and advance freedom.

Environmental, Social, and Governance Proposals in American Businesses

Today, the House Financial Services Committee Republicans announced that they are forming a Working Group to combat the threat to our capital markets posed by those on the far-left pushing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) proposals. This is a big deal that HFSC Republicans are now moving in the right direction on ESG, but we can’t let up now.

Earlier this month, the committee sent out a press release outlining the jurisdictions of its subcommittees to include, among other things, “identifying best practices and policies that continue to strengthen diversity and inclusion.” FreedomWorks exposed this language and expressed concerns of the GOP continuing to advance the Left’s woke ideology that is the antithesis of a free market and meritocratic society upon which this country was founded. We are grateful to see this committee clarify its rhetoric and take action to root out the far-left ideology within our nation’s business sector.

The Debt Ceiling Explained

The Debt Ceiling Explained With all the talk of an impending debt ceiling showdown, our studio team put together this perfect explainer that provides a great rundown of what the debt ceiling is, why we have one, and how we should address it.

Restoring the People’s House

This week, FreedomWorks had the privilege of hosting a reception to honor members of the House Freedom Caucus who fought during the first week of 2023 to change the Washington status quo through the new House rule package. This gang of 20 patriots are committed to fixing our broken institutions and bringing about much-needed changes to the processes and procedures in the U.S. House of Representatives.

For years, the American people have understood that Congress is broken, and those who are elected to Congress never seem to pass laws that protect Americans’ rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Elected officials and the political elite seem to benefit more while Americans are left forgotten and trampled as a result of bad decisions made in Washington.

We are beginning to see the broken system in our nation’s capital finally unravel because of these faithful few, and we will continue to support their efforts to limit the size and reach of the federal government. But this fight is far from over. A special thank you to The Heritage Foundation, Conservative Partnership Institute, Club For Growth, Media Research Center, Center for Renewing America, and many others for partnering with FreedomWorks to make this event possible.

The House is in the middle of a three-week stretch where Representatives will be considering bills under suspension of the rules focused on protecting seniors from financial exploitation, expanding access to capital for small businesses in rural areas, and updating requirements for credit union boards. The House also considered bills pursuant to a rule related to the COVID-19 pandemic, including a resolution that would end the COVID-19 national emergency. The Senate was also in session this week confirming nominations.
