Government Costs Workers Half a Year of Labor

Americans for Tax Reform are hosting their annual celebration of Cost of Government Day today and have released a report on the cost of government in 2006.  For those who don’t know Cost of Government day is the date on which Americans have worked long enough to pay for government for the year.  Government spending and regulations are equal to 52% of the GDP this year, meaning that Americans have to work 192.5 days to pay for the burdens of the government.   ÂÂ
