FreedomWorks Issues a Key Vote NO on NDAA for FY23

Congress is set to vote on a Biden administration-endorsed version of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023, H.R. 7776.

While we are pleased that the COVID-19 vaccine mandate repeal made it on the bill, there is still much to be concerned about in this $847 billion legislation ($45 billion more than President Biden’s request).

For the fifth year in a row, the Department of Defense failed to pass its annual audit, failing to account for 61% of DoD’s $3.5 trillion in assets. Yet, Republicans and Democrats are ramming this bill through Congress without any mechanisms to hold the Pentagon accountable for wasting and abusing taxpayer dollars.

In addition, this radical defense authorization includes funding for the Green New Deal within the Department of Defense, as well as pet projects that have no tie to defending national security..

American taxpayers are facing financial hardships due to Joe Biden’s failed economic policies. Republicans need to get serious about our nation’s fiscal situation and cannot continue to give the Pentagon’s woke leadership a pass on their fiscal irresponsibility. That’s why we urge members of Congress to vote NO on H.R. 7666.
