Key Vote YES on the Nomination of Eugene Scalia for Secretary of Labor

On behalf of FreedomWorks’ activist community, I urge you to contact your Senators and ask them to vote YES on the nomination of Eugene Scalia to direct the Department of Labor.

Scalia is clearly a knowledgeable and highly qualified pick, having previously been appointed as the Department of Labor’s solicitor under President George W. Bush. He has since enjoyed a successful career as a lawyer on labor and employment issues.

During his legal career, Scalia has been successful in pushing back against federal overreaches into workplace regulation. Such a voice at the Department of Labor will be valuable in ensuring that its mission to protect workers does not further spill over into unnecessary, job-killing red tape.

FreedomWorks commends the Senate for continuing to work to address the backlog of judicial and executive nominees.

FreedomWorks will count the vote on Eugene Scalia’s nomination when calculating our Scorecard for 2019 and reserves the right to weight any votes. The scorecard is used to determine eligibility for the FreedomFighter Award, which recognizes members of the House and Senate who consistently vote to support economic freedom and individual liberty.

Sincerely,
Adam Brandon President, FreedomWorks
