Inflation ‘could get a little bit worse’ before it gets better, says economist

“We have an economy that really should be booming right now. COVID is basically behind us. We’ve got people going back to work. We’ve got businesses and restaurants and movie theaters that are back open. So there’s no reason we shouldn’t have a really strong economy right now,” said former White House economic adviser Steve Moore. “We’re looking at about 9 percent inflation right now. That is the highest level of inflation we’ve had since the early 1980s. So we’ve got a lot of work to do to get this inflation out of the system.”
