The Fairbanks Republican Women will present Power Tuesday in collaboration with the Republican Party of San Diego County.

A continental breakfast features Matt Schumsky, California field coordinator for FreedomWorks. The group was founded in 1984 to educate, train and mobilize activists to promote less government and lower taxes.

Helen Woodward Animal Center: First Friends classes prepare children ages 2 through 5 to adopt a pet. Learn about bunnies and guinea pigs through Friday. Dogs are the theme Tuesday through May 12 and farm animals are May 16-19. Birds are May 23-26 and cats May 30-July 2. Classes are from 10 to 11:30 a.m. A parent is required to accompany children. “Spring Flower Show – Celebrating 80 Years”: The Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club will celebrate its 80th anniversary with an annual flower show organized around themes from shows from the 1920s and 1930s. Networking Golf Tournament: The Del Mar Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts a tournament with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Monday at the Morgan Run Resort & Club, 5690 Cancha de Golf, Rancho Santa Fe. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Del Mar Kiwanis in support of Voices for Children. The chamber serves Del Mar, Carmel Valley, Sorrento Valley, Torrey Hills, Torrey Highlands, San Diego and Rancho Santa Fe. Tickets are $160 for individual golfers.
