Member of the Month May 2022: Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.)

FreedomWorks is excited to recognize Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.) as our Member of the Month for May 2022. A consistent voice for limited government, Green is truly a champion for the conservative grassroots in Washington.

A West Point graduate, decorated combat veteran, business owner, and ER physician, Rep. Green has had an extraordinarily successful career that gives him a well-rounded perspective on public policy.

Green was elected to the Tennessee State Senate in 2012, where he distinguished himself as a conservative leader that fought for freedom and smaller government for all Tennesseans.

Since first coming to Congress, Green has worked tirelessly on behalf of Tennessee’s 7th District. He serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee. In addition, Green serves as Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, Civilian Security, Migration, and International Economic Policy.

Congressman Green’s experience building a successful healthcare company equips him to take on wasteful spending and over-regulation from Washington. He introduced the Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution, which requires Congress to pass a balanced budget and stick to it.

The Details

• Rep. Green holds a lifetime score of 88 percent on the FreedomWorks congressional scorecard. This includes a perfect score of 100 percent for the year 2022.
• He is a member of both the conservative House Freedom Caucus and the Republican Study Committee.
• Along with being a strong voice for fiscal sanity, Green is standing up to the woke mob by cosponsoring H.R. 5328, the No CRT Act. This bill would ban CRT curriculum from our military service academies.
• Green also offered an amendment to H.R. 350, the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act that would prevent parents form being labeled as domestic terrorists.
