Please Urge Senators McConnell & Bunning to Oppose Mortgage Bailout Bill

To Whom It May Concern:

While browsing through the major Kentucky blogs I came across your site and wanted to give you the heads up about a campaign that we are pushing in the state to put pressure on Sen. McConnell to oppose the Mortgage Bailout Bill that recently passed the Senate Banking Committee. This is a $300 billion bill with a $500 million direct tax on homeowners and renters who have either paid their mortgages or were responsible in obtaining their loans. The revenue would then be used to bail our the lenders and the 2% of the population that obtained risky sub-prime loans and are now facing foreclosure. It is unfair to punish these responsible citizens for the poor financial decisions made by a minority of the population.

FreedomWorks recently launched AngryRenter.com, an online petition that allows citizens to leave their comments in opposition to this bailout. Currently there have been over 54,000 signatures nationwide, nearly 400 of which are from Kentucky. Please urge your readers to visit the site and then contact Sen. McConnell at either (502)582-6304 or (859)224-8286 to urge him to oppose the mortgage bailout.

If you are interested in partnering with us on this initiative, please feel free to contact me at the numbers listed below.

Sincerely,

Andrew Brown
