Stand By Our Principles

As the elections approach, conservatives need to remember what we stand for: lower taxes, less government and more freedom. Unfortunately, many politicians in Washington, Republicans and Democrats, are not legislating with these principles in mind.

Federal spending is out of control, earmarks and pork have skyrocketed, and the majority cannot even cut taxes without supporting bad economic policy. Those candidates who want the support of conservatives this fall should campaign on bold ideas, not sound bites. For instance, the conservative base wants to see drastic spending cuts, permanent repeal of the death tax, fundamental tax reform and the creation of personal retirement accounts.

Conservatives are fed up with both parties and simply will not support candidates whose record in Congress is filled with bigger government and merely symbolic legislation. We want to see real reform reminiscent of the Reagan revolution and the Contract with America.
