CSE’s Dr. James Miller Discusses Social Security

CSE Counselor Dr. James Miller III, former director of the Office of Management and Budget during the Reagan Administration, participated in the Alliance for Worker Retirement Security panel discussion on October 18. In his statement, Dr. Miller indicated that the need for reform is just as imperative now as it was before the terrorist acts. “The time is now if the economy is good, the time is now if the economy is bad. The important thing is that it’s now time to reform the system!” For more information on CSE’s Social Security activities, visit us at http://www.cse.org/informed/soc_security.html.

Also participating on the panel were, Mike Baroody of the National Association of Manufacturers, Grover Norquist from Americans for Tax Reform, Bruce Josten from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Terry Neese of the Women Impacting Public Policy Institute.

Alabama CSE: Turning up the Heat on

Alabama’s Judicial Inquiry Commission

In response to the Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission’s failure to provide CSE and the public with the disclosure of their funding and expense reports, AL CSE has taken to the airwaves and the print media to shed light on the commission’s obduracy.

In the last week, AL CSE held a press conference, which was featured on Alabama Public Television’s “For the Record,” and visited with numerous editorial boards including the Montgomery Advertiser, Decatur Daily, Huntsville Times, and the Mobile Press Register. Both the Montgomery Advertiser and the Decatur Daily ran stories on CSE’s press conference, and the Birmingham News published AL CSE’s letter to the editor on the issue. AL CSE Director Twinkle Andress also visited with Alabama public radio stations WVAS FM 90.7 and WAPR FM 88.3 to discuss the issue.
