FreedomWorks Announces Key Vote Against the Congressional Debt Ceiling Agreement
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to Congress’ debt ceiling agreement, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:
“We are incredibly disappointed in congressional leadership’s decision to endorse a short-term increase in the federal public debt limit.
"Endorsing a debt limit increase without any meaningful spending reform is wholly irresponsible. Worse still, we will be back in the same place as soon as the federal government blows through the $480 billion in the coming months.
"Congressional leaders must stop playing legislative politics and for once place the economic well-being of our country ahead of unnecessary spending fights. In the best interest of our nation’s economy, FreedomWorks will be key voting against all measures related to this legislation.”
