FreedomWorks Applauds Senator Rand Paul’s Efforts to Delay Passage of the NDAA

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to Senator Rand Paul’s opposition to the NDAA and success in delaying the vote thus far, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“We applaud Senator Paul’s efforts to delay consideration of the NDAA. The bill not only includes provisions that will burden small businesses, it explicitly prohibits President Trump from reducing the number of American military forces in Afghanistan. It also doesn’t include provisions repealing the 2002 AUMF in Iraq and the prohibitions on the use of funds to continue America’s involvement in the bloody conflict in Yemen. The bipartisan, bicameral Forever War Caucus may like this bill because it continues to feed the parasites in the Swamp, but we are grateful for Senator Paul’s efforts to slow down its consideration so Americans can learn more about what defense contractors’ rented friends in Congress are up to.”
