FreedomWorks Issues Coalition Letter Urging Trump Administration and Congress to Take Meaningful Action on School Choice

WASHINGTON, D.C. — FreedomWorks today, along with 11 other state and national organizations and nearly two dozen state legislators and candidates nationwide, sent a coalition letter to President Trump as well as House and Senate leadership urging meaningful action on school choice. Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“Now more than ever, Congress and the administration must bypass half-measures of school choice in favor of instead putting dollars in the hands of families. Put simply, any educational relief — new or existing — should be funneled directly to families for their students instead of channeled into systems.

“Families are hurting more and more as their students are now bearing the brunt of continued government-mandated lockdowns done in response to COVID-19. As the school year is underway, we are calling on elected officials to empower families to give their students the best opportunity to learn, regardless of whether or not their public schools reopen. This means dollars following students, not propping up institutions. Supporters of school choice must stand-up now and be heard loud and clear.”
