WASHINGTON, D.C. — This week FreedomWorks announced Sen. Mike Braun (R-Ind.) as our featured Member of the Month and the Fourth Amendment is Not for Sale Act as our Bill of the Month for July 2022.
On his selection as FreedomWorks’ Member of the Month, Sen. Mike Braun (R-Ind.) commented:
“I’m honored to have been selected by the good people at FreedomWorks as their July ‘Member of the Month.’ After seeing how unchecked government spending has driven our nation’s devastating inflation and other domestic catastrophes, I decided to take action and introduce my very own balanced budget on the Senate floor with the goal of restoring fiscal sanity in Washington. As a former business owner, I will always do my part to eliminate government waste and balance the budget. I’m grateful to have been recognized by FreedomWorks for this act of fiscal responsibility, and will continue this uphill battle to improve the lives of all Americans.”
On selection of the Fourth Amendment is Not for Sale Act as FreedomWorks’ Bill of the Month, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) commented:
“The Fourth Amendment’s protection against unreasonable search and seizure ensures that the liberty of every American cannot be violated on the whims, or financial transactions, of every government officer. This critical legislation will put an end to the government’s practice of buying its way around the Bill of Rights by purchasing the personal and location data of everyday Americans. Enacting the Fourth Amendment is Not For Sale Act will not only stop this gross abuse of privacy, but also stands for the fundamental principle that government exists to protect, not trade away, individual rights. Thank you to FreedomWorks for recognizing the importance of this legislation and for selecting it as their Bill of the Month.”
The mission of FreedomWorks is to build, educate, and mobilize the largest network of activists advocating the principles of smaller government, lower taxes, free markets, personal liberty, and the rule of law.
