FreedomWorks Response to Republican Study Committee FY 2020 Budget

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the House Republican Study Committee’s release of its Fiscal Year 2020 Budget, “Preserving American Freedom,” Jason Pye, FreedomWorks Vice President of Legislative Affairs, commented:

“We applaud the Republican Study Committee for releasing a budget blueprint that promotes economic growth and opportunity for all Americans. While the budgets that Congress routinely passes lately only exacerbate our fiscal profligacy, the RSC budget would balance in six years by implementing some important reforms to mandatory spending, including Social Security, as well as welfare, healthcare, and budget process.

“While our economy is booming as it is, we should focus efforts on empowering individuals and families. The RSC budget does this by coupling further tax cuts with spending cuts of $12.6 trillion over ten years, creating Universal Savings Accounts, and reigning in irresponsible regulation, among instituting other pro-growth policies.

“There is no doubt that, with our nation $22 trillion in debt that is ever-rising, Congress needs to look seriously at ways to preserve the integrity of our nation, starting with getting our fiscal state back in order. We thank the Republican Study Committee for doing just that.”
