FreedomWorks Statement in Response to Congressional Forum on Rules and Process Changes for the 118th Congress

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to Congressional Forum at FreedomWorks on Rules and Process Changes for the 118th Congress , Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“Today’s forum led by Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) on rules for the upcoming 118th Congress was a valuable opportunity to hear from members and expert witnesses as Republicans prepare to regain control of the People’s House.

“The American people deserve rule changes that restore checks and balances, improve transparency, and reassert Congress’ constitutional duty as stewards of the taxpayer.

“Those running for Republican leadership should take note of today’s forum and understand that Americans deserve the accountability and transparency in their government denied over the past two years. House Freedom Caucus co-founder and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said it best ‘When you do not empower individual members, you’re putting a muzzle on Americans.’”
