FreedomWorks Statement in Response to Arizona State Senate’s Rejection of SB1485

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the Arizona Senate’s vote against SB1485, a bill aimed to strengthen election integrity by providing for increased oversight over voting by mail, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“Arizonans deserve to see strengthened election security measures passed into law. It is unfortunate to see the state senate play politics with legislation that would restore integrity to the state’s mail ballot system.

“Americans from both sides of the aisle raised justified concerns with voting by mail in the 2020 election. This is of course the case in Arizona as well. Arizonans cannot afford to see their duly elected senators engage in petty measures to draw attention to pet projects at the expense of passing key, much needed legislation in the interest of election integrity.”
