FreedomWorks Statement in Response to China’s Call for Ceasefire in Ukrainian Conflict

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to China’s recent call for a ceasefire in the ongoing war in Ukraine, Noah Wall, FreedomWorks Executive Vice President, commented:

“The American defense and intelligence establishment should feel ashamed that China, an authoritarian police-state, is the adult in the room calling for a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. If President Biden and his foreign policy elites wanted to show true diplomatic strength, they would be leading the push for de-escalation through a ceasefire.”

“The continued calls for direct military or cyber action against Russia by many in the U.S. media are reckless and irresponsible. It is imperative that we work carefully to de-escalate the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. After all, one can correctly believe Putin’s Russia is a bad actor responsible for the deaths of innocents. One can also correctly believe that direct military or cyber action against Russia would lead to catastrophe for all. These two concepts are not mutually exclusive.”
