FreedomWorks Statement in Response to the D.C. Circuit Court Upholding the Restoring Internet Freedom Order

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the D.C. Circuit Court upholding the Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC) Restoring Internet Freedom Order, Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“From day one of the Trump administration, the president promised to ‘drain the swamp’ by cutting regulatory red tape. One of the most important actions of this administration was FCC Chairman, Ajit Pai’s Restoring Internet Freedom Order, which put the web under the same light-touch regulatory framework that had allowed it to grow and thrive in the first place.

“We are pleased that the D.C. Circuit has upheld this important reform that will spur innovation and investment in our tech sector for years to come. We’re also pleased to see that the Court upheld the FCC’s transparency rule, which will provide important protections for consumers. We look forward to seeing what is possible going forward under this more free and open Internet, and offer special congratulations to Chairman Pai for his tireless work protecting free market principles at the FCC.”
